Tennessee Cattlemen's Association announces 37th annual convention in Murfreesboro

Murfreesboro, TN – The Tennessee Cattlemen's Association (TCA) will celebrate 37 years of serving the state's cattle producers with its annual convention and trade show in Murfreesboro on January 28th - 29th.

Attendees at "Boots in the 'Boro" will hear from top livestock industry speakers addressing topics like herd health, forage systems, sustainability, and the current state of the beef business. Informational breakout sessions called, "Cow Colleges" will be held on both Friday and Saturday.

The speakers include Laura Vaught, Dr. Justin Rhinehart, Tom Field, Gregg Brann, Nancy Choate, and Dr. Lowell Midla. They will focus on topics such as fence laws and liabilities, considerations for first-calf heifers, estate planning, multi-species grazing, agriculture's future, and more.

"Convention provides opportunities to learn about new research in the beef industry and take home ideas to implement on your farm," said Charles Hord, TCA's executive vice president. "There will be something for everyone, whether you're just starting out or have been in business for many decades."

On the morning of Jan. 28th, the state's largest beef-cattle trade show will take place and attendees will be able to visit with more than one hundred exhibitors. Vendors will be showing off new products, services, and the latest technology for the beef industry. There will also be a chance to network with fellow cattle producers and meet new friends at TCA's awards luncheon which features a delicious meal along with honoring outstanding industry leaders and hearing from some of the state's legislators.

TCA has worked hard over the last few years to develop more programs for the youth in the state. This convention will offer top-notch opportunities for young people to learn about livestock judging, animal care, beef cuts, and participate in speech contests, photo contests, Skill-a-thon trainings, and a Quiz Bowl. They can also participate in networking activities such as the County Chase Activity and Convention Scavenger Hunt.

Pre-registration is now available and ends on Jan. 21. Late registration and registration at the door will be an additional $10 over pre-registration fees. Attendees can register online at www.tncattle.org/shop.

TCA was founded in 1985 and has 7,000 members from across the state and the southeast. The organization works to provide the cattlemen of Tennessee with an organization through which they may function collectively to protect their interests and work toward the solution of cattle industry problems and to build the necessary goodwill that will bring both governmental esteem and recognition to the industry.
