(SMYRNA, TN) The 46th annual Town of Smyrna Christmas Parade and Food Drive was held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon with sunny skies and temps around 60.

Spectators lined Lowry Street and cheered as floats, bands, classic cars, dancers, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus passed. It was much like a Norman Rockwell painting that came to life.

Parade organizers indicated that generous donations of non-perishable food for the needy was collected by Town of Smyrna personnel from spectators along the route.

Smyrna Mayor Mary Esther Reed said, “We believe in neighbor helping neighbor, and we believe that no family in our community should experience food insecurity.”

The goal of 50,000 items was reached with donations from both the public as well as parade entries.
