Seller beware, that’s the message from police in nearby Nashville as an aggravated robbery arrest has highlighted the dangers of meeting strangers to buy and sell goods advertised on FaceBook Marketplace.

18-Year-old Toran Jenkins has been arrested for two aggravated robberies involving Facebook Marketplace sales, according to Metro Nashville Police. Jenkins was taken into custody by violent crimes detectives this past week after he allegedly robbed victims of a PlayStation5 in Nashville.

A couple had posted the gaming system on Facebook Marketplace and a woman responded to the advertisement. Through Messenger, the woman advised the couple that she would be sending her brothers to their door to purchase the PlayStation5. Police report that once the two men obtained possession of the console, one produced a black handgun and ordered the couple to go inside their home. The men drove off in a white Ford Escape.

Detectives were able to locate the stolen Escape and apprehend Jenkins after he ran from police. The second suspect involved is still at large.

During his interview with detectives, Jenkins reportedly confessed to another robbery of a PlayStation5.

Jenkins is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery, theft of property over $10,000, evading arrest, driving without a license, and leaving the scene of an accident. He is being held on a $172,000 bond.
