UPDATED: Nashville Woman Killed In I-24 Crash Near Salem Highway

(MURFREESBORO)  A crash occured at 12:24PM Wednesday afternoon (1/12/2022) at the 80-mile marker on I-24 eastbound near Salem Highway. 59-year old Frances Woodall of Nashville was killed in the crash. She was driving a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. 

Accoring to the Tennessee Highway Patrol's accident report, "A tractor trailer rig was stationary in the second lane from the concrete median dividing wall. The Nissan Pathfinder approached from behind and struck the rear of the 2011 Freightliner. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway."

42-year old Alberto Triana-Copello of Miami was the driver of the big rig. The Florida man was not injured, and both persons were wearing safety belts.  

The crash involved a tractor trailer rig and a car (shown in the T-DOT traffic camera below).
