The wording from the National Weather Service and Storm Prediction Center about the potential for severe weather for Middle Tennessee was designed to get our attention. And it should. Severe thunderstorms, some with damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes, are possible in Middle Tennessee. The weather looks especially bad Monday afternoon and evening. In forecast discussion, the National Weather Service uses words like strong, long-tracked tornadoes and they expect an outbreak of storms. Very heavy rain is also likely.
