Investigation into Sunday shooting of Murfreesboro man continues

Murfreesboro Detectives continue to investigate a murder that took place just before 6:00 Sunday night (2/7/16).

When officers arrived to 1306 Eagle Street, they found victim Tijuandres Garrett laying in the grass near Rolling Acres apartment A-7. Officer Troutman with the MPD had to advise several bystanders to back up as he performed CPR on the victim. When the fire department arrived, they took over the resuscitation efforts, however 20 year old Garrett later died.

Murfreesboro Police Department's Violent Crime Unit is investigating this as a homicide. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 615-893-2717 or Police Communications at 615-893-1311.

New Generation Funeral Home in Antioch are in charge of arraignments for Tijuandres Garrett.
