Look, up in the sky---is it a parasail over the Murfreesboro Airport?  No--it's a new ultralight.

While traveling along Memorial Boulevard around 7:20 Wednesday night, cars were pulling over to watch what appeared to be someone parasailing around the Murfreesboro Airport.

The next morning, WGNS News called the airport and asked if they have people parasailing in the area? The spokesperson sounded shocked and noted, "I hope not, that would be dangerous...with all of the airplanes in the area, parasailers don't have radio contact with planes. It would be an accident waiting to happen."

After a little more conversation, the airport representative said, "What you saw was an ultralight that is kept here. It's actually a licensed aircraft, has a motor and has been in Murfreesboro for four or five months."

We asked what kind of range the ultralight had, and he said, "I'm not sure, but I know they've flown it from here to Knoxville before."

He indicated that this is a new and more advanced ultralight, and is very different from those of years gone by that had a Volkswagen motor.
