Jason Cole Seeking La Vergne Alderman Seat

La Vergne resident Jason Cole has announced that he will seek the office of Alderman for the city of La Vergne during the November 4, 2014 election.

Cole, who has served on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee, said as Alderman he would be focused on access to providing a healthy environment for small-business growth, safe neighborhoods and continuing to improve police and emergency services for the community.

Cole describes himself as a "conservative," and as someone who as always supported limited government and .

During his time on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee, Cole has assisted with multiple community events such as the July 4th Celebration, the Easter Egg Hunt and Old Timer's Festival. He has spearheaded a proposal to start a farmers market in La Vergne.

"I believe my forward thinking abilities and servant leadership skills will be an asset to me as the next Alderman," Cole said. "The residents want a representative that will listen, research the facts and represent them, and that what I plan to be."

Cole was recently nominated for a Ruthie award for his Volunteer activities. "Volunteering and giving back to the community is important to me. That is why I am out helping with such events as the senior citizens center's Roadblock Fundraiser and the Lake Forest Playground build."

Cole is now in his 12th year of working in the healthcare industry. "I've been working with the elderly and indigent, helping them to get medical supplies and medications that they really have a difficult time getting on their own. It's such a blessing to be able to see people's face and hear their voice when they thought there was no way to get these and you show them how."

He and his wife, Bridget Cole, have been married for 9 years. They have two young children, and the family attends Covenant Baptist Church.
