Jenny Ortiz Named Principal at Bradley Academy

Assistant Principal Jenny Ortiz has been named Principal at Bradley Academy Elementary. Dr. Linda Gilbert, Director of Murfreesboro City Schools, announced Monday the appointment of Ortiz as Principal replacing Dr. Kim Fowler. Ortiz will assume her new role as principal immediately.

Ortiz has been with Murfreesboro City Schools for ten years and served as Assistant Principal at Bradley Academy since 2012. Initially, Ortiz served a dual role as assistant principal with Scales Elementary and Bradley Academy. Ortiz joined MCS as a classroom teacher at Erma Siegel Elementary. She has also taught at Discovery School and Scales Elementary.

Ortiz, a native of Florida, received her Masters of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from MTSU. Ortiz earned her Bachelor Degree from University of North Carolina, Wilmington.

"Jenny has the experience and vision to lead Bradley," says Dr. Linda Gilbert, Director of Schools. "The staff respects Jenny's leadership and I truly believe her abilities will ensure the success of students and staff alike."

Bradley Academy is recognized for excellence in arts: creative writing, drama, instrumental music, theater, visual arts and vocal music. Coupled with a strong academic program, Bradley works to develop both the artistic and academic talents of its students.

"I am excited to embrace this new challenge," says Ortiz. "Bradley has an amazing group of parents, staff members and students. Together, we will work to ensure success."

Ortiz, and her husband, Alberto, and their two boys reside in Murfreesboro.

Bradley Academy is located at 511 Mercury Blvd. and is the home to more than 450 students. Murfreesboro City Schools is a district of twelve schools committed to the academic and personal success of each child.
