A senior judge has suspended the operations of AAAA Bonding, a company formerly owned by Rutherford County Circuit Court Clerk Melissa Harrell, after finding that it exceeded its forfeited bonding limits.

As reported by Murfreesboro Post contributor Sam Stockard, Senior Judge Ben Cantrell of Nashville issued the order last Thursday after the District Attorney's Office filed a motion showing AAAA Bonding Co. reported outstanding bond forfeitures of over 101-thousand dollars on Nov. 10 and collateral of 100-thousand dollars.

Cantrell determined that Harrell's husband, Otho Dunaway, holds a valuable asset in the company and that when she took office as Circuit Court clerk on Sept. 1 that put her in conflict with state law.
