Changes are being proposed to Tennessee’s judicial districts. The proposal would give Rutherford County its own district, which currently includes Cannon County. Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey introduced the plan last week in Nashville. It marks the first time in 29 years the process has been attempted. It would take the number of

districts from 29 to 31. The plan would put Cannon County in with Coffee, Warren and Van Buren Counties. The plan would have to be approved by the General Assembly and would start during the next judicial term September of 2014.
