At Thursday night's County Commission meeting, Fire & Codes Academy Director Jeff Elliott presented an award to Rutherford County Fire Rescue Chief Larry Farley. This was for having the state's highest number of training hours for a combination Paid/Volunteer Fire Department.
Rutherford County Fire and Rescue has been awarded $247,000 in grants. The Assistance to Firefighters and Fire Prevention and Safety Grants through FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security. These grants provide resources to protect the health and safety of the public and firefighting personnel.
Around 4:00 o'clock Sunday (12/3/2017) afternoon, the Rutherford County Fire and Rescue Department answered a call on Versailles Road. Reports indicate that a "flash fire" involving a truck that was inside a detached garage resulted in Henry Sharber being injured.
