Murfreesboro City Manager Rob Lyons told WGNS that new projects are underway to make the city more user friendly. One of those project is the extension of the Joe B. Jackson Parkway between South Church Street and I-24.
Middle Tennessee Electric’s Board of Directors has named Chris Jones as the cooperative’s new president. Jones, MTEMC’s Vice President of Communications and Member Services, will succeed Frank Jennings, who has served as president for 11 years and has been with MTEMC for more than 42 years. Chris will be on the WGNS Action Line this Friday at 8:10 A.M.
According to the report, “The audit revealed information suggesting the former executive director’s husband worked for, or was in appearance, professionally involved with, a law firm involved with at least three film projects that received a Film Commission incentive.”
There will be several county committee meetings this week of local interest. The commission's Property Management Committee will tackle the loss of the Lascassas convenience center and a proposed judicial building at their Thursday meeting.

This most recent arrest of Richard Bobbitt occurred on Friday, January 18th in Rutherford County. A booking document from the Sheriff’s Office shows that Bobbitt was released 9-hours later after posting bond on Saturday, January 19th. The outline of Bobbitt’s charges state, “Driving on revoked first offense and greater” and “DUI 4th or greater (Felony).”
