The Senate State and Local Government Committee approved legislation on Tuesday permitting retail food stores to sell wine and retail package stores to sell alcoholic beverages seven days a week.
Tennessee lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow for the retail sale of wine on Sundays. If passed, consumers could buy wine during the same hours and days as beer. The state House Government Subcommittee passed the measure unanimously last week.
Wine and liquor may soon be sold in package and grocery stores on Sunday. If passed by lawmakers, "Seven Day Sales" could become active on July 1, 2018.
