In a few weeks, Tennessee voters will decide on a controversial abortion amendment. Known as "Amendment #1," a "yes" vote would alter the state constitution and allow state lawmakers to enact tighter restrictions on abortions in Tennessee. A "no" vote would maintain the status quo.

The race between Fourth District Congressman Scott DesJarlais and challenger Jim Tracy is as close as a race can be. With all of the precincts reporting, the unofficial tally reported to the state from the district show DesJarlais 35 votes ahead of Tracy.
Smyrna Town Judge Keta Barnes was defeated by challenger Lynn England Alexander.
Rutherford County General Sessions Court, Part I Judge Ben Hall McFarlin announced his re-election bid. “I love what I do, and I’m making a difference,” McFarlin said.
