On Sunday evening, Rutherford County Fire Rescue responded to a Water Rescue at the intersection of Paw Paw Springs Rd and Independent Hill Road.
At approximately 11:26 Monday morning, Murfreesboro police received a call about an unidentified male attempting to break into vehicles at a business on Medical Center Parkway.
Crews were told that a woman was kayaking, her boat filled with water, and she was holding on to a tree limb somewhere on the Stones River along the 1500 block of Broad Street.
"The medal is awarded to a member who in the line of duty distinguished himself/herself by the performance of an act of gallantry or valor at imminent personal hazard to live with knowledge of the risk, above and beyond the call of duty," Maj. Grissom said.
"By the grace of God, it worked out," Lt. Haynes said. Around 9:00 o'clock Monday morning, the car was pulled from the high water at the Elam Road slab at the Stones River.
