The La Vergne mayor, fire chief, police chief and others were locked up in jail. Mayor Dennis Waldron tells NewsChannel 5 it was worth the "jail time" to be able to share holiday cheer...

Waldron, along with Fire Chief Rick McCormick, Police Chief Mike Walker, Assistant Police Chief Keith Lowery and Rescue Chief Dana Blair all took part in the event on Saturday. Last year, over 90 families with children and 20 senior citizens were helped. If you missed your opportunity to donate over the weekend, you can still drop them off at La Vergne City Hall, the La Vergne P-D or any fire hall in the city.
