La Vergne Woman Turns 102!

The year 1915 saw World War I ramping up and the first use of poison gas by the Germans, Ford Motor Company manufactured it's one-millionth Model T and La Vergne's Jane Vails was born.

Today, Tuesday (8-15-17), Ms. Vails turns 102 years young. She is the oldest senior at the La Vergne Senior Center, where they're having a party for her at 11am.

Even at her age, she loves to dress up in her pearls and high heels.

Also in 1915: In Early 1915, The US House of Representatives rejects proposal to give women right to vote. Kiwanis International is founded in Detroit, Michigan. On May 6 , 1915 Babe Ruth hits his first career home run off of Jack Warhop.
