Lascassas man charged with DUI #3

DUI number three was charged against a Lascassas man by Murfreesboro Police. Carl David Roe, age 51, was stopped on College Street at Academy for driving at night without his headlights on. Once stopped, the police report that WGNS obtained on Monday shows that Roe had an odor of intoxicant about his person. He also had slurred speech and appeared to be unsteady on his feet.

After a field sobriety test, the arresting officer wrote, "I felt that Carl was at a level making it unsafe to operate a motor vehicle therefor he was placed under arrest for DUI." Police report that Mr. Roe had two prior DUI's in Rutherford County, one in 2009 and the second in 2012.

A search warrant to obtained to take a sample of Roe's blood to test for alcohol after he refused giving a blood sample. An open container of beer was located in his vehicle which led to the additional charge of "Violation of the Implied Consent Law."
