A 33-year old La Vergne woman was charged with 8 counts of failing to appear in court on Tuesday. Tina Duke was arrested after she was said to be involved in an auto accident on North West Broad Street in Murfreesboro.

After Duke was arrested, she was transported to the local jail. Once inside in the jail, the woman was checked over by the nursing staff. The staff then suggested that she needed to be transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for low oxygen levels.

Prior to her trip to the hospital, it was discovered that Duke allegedly brought drugs into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A small bag containing 8 Valium pills found in the suspects undergarments netted a single charge of "Bringing Contraband into a Penal Facility."

Because the woman was charged with 8 counts of failing to appear in court as a result of missing past court dates it is not known if she will make her upcoming court appearance that has been scheduled for January 19, 2016.
