Bour is the Director of New Beginnings Coaching Services in Murfreesboro, TN. specializing in ADHD Coaching for adolescents and adults.  Diagnosed with ADHD himself at the age of 35 he is very familiar with the obstacles the disorder can present in a person's life when left untreated, and has experienced the benefits of ADHD treatment plans, including ADHD Coaching.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental disorders that develops in  childhood and continues into adulthood. Some common characteristics of ADHD is fidgeting or unable to sit still, trouble focusing or concentrating, and impulsiveness or difficulty controlling behavioral.  When not properly treated, students with ADHD will have a hard time concentrating on tasks and subject matter, constantly lose assignments or forget to turn it in, and have difficulties taking tests.

One of the most common myths about ADHD is the doctor will diagnosed any child with ADHD just for being a child while the fact is a certain criteria that has to be met, and symptoms has to be impairing in 2 or more settings. When left untreated the student has a high risk of not performing well in school, will most likely to drop out of high school or not complete higher education, and engage in risky behaviors that lands the student in trouble.

The most effective treatment for ADHD is stimulant medication, however studies have shown that using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, counseling, or ADHD coaching in conjunction with medication improves the patients chances
for success, and will improve the student's educational experience.

The title of Bour's presentation is "ADHD Coaching for Success", and will cover ADHD, how the disorder is diagnosed, current treatment plans, the student's rights under the American with Disabilities Act, and how ADHD Coaching can benefit the student's education experience.

"It is my hope to be invited to individual schools, and share this knowledge with parents and teachers." Bour said, " I do not like seeing a child not getting the proper help due to parents not having the correct information."

Mr. Bour has used the coaching process in his life as well making great achievements.  In 2012 he worked with Shire Pharmaceuticals on the ADHD education project "ADHD Shared Focus", in 2013 he spoke at the American
Association of Christian Counselors world conference and nominated for an award by the National Behavioral Health Council, and this year his charity "Bour Charity Classic" will host their first golf tournament at Indian Hills Golf Course.  Jason Bour is also a candidate in the Republican primaries for Rutherford County Commissioner of the 9th District.

"My accomplishments did not happen overnight, and I still have my difficulties, " according to Bour, "but using the coaching process has helped me stay on track, and kept me in the game."
