Local school principal to be on Dancing with the Nashville Stars

Providence Christian Academy's Lower School principal, Libra Lukasick is scheduled to participate in Dancing with the Nashville Stars on Thursday, October 23 at the Factory in Franklin.

Dancing with the Nashville Stars is the premier fundraising event for Feed America First, a local 501(c)3 hunger?relief charity serving the Middle Tennessee Region. The mission of Feed America First is to provide food to agencies that feed the hungry. Their goal for this event is to raise enough money?to be able to provide 750,000 meals.

Dancing with the Nashville Stars will begin at 6:00pm at The Factory at Franklin. Activities will include a celebrity dance contest, catered banquet and silent auction.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to pursue a lifelong dream of learning to dance, while helping a worthwhile ministry make a difference in the lives of those in need," says Lukasick.

In order to support Lukasick, PCA fifth grade students hosted a service project that collected nearly 2,000 cans of food for Feed America First. Donated cans will be distributed this week to agencies serving residents in Middle Tennessee.

"It's exciting to know that the food collected by our students will be immediately distributed to residents here in our area," notes Lukasick. "I am truly grateful for the support of our students, parents and teachers and look forward to representing PCA in the Dancing with the Nashville Stars competition."

Dance contestants include: Pearl Bransford, City of Franklin Alderman- at-Large, Jon Sexton, Owner of BOOST FitClub and creator of B12 Workout, Farrah Maltz, Former Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins Cheerleader, Erin Como, Fox 17 Reporter, Leah Hulan, the Iconic "Bond Girl" of Grumpy's Bail Bonds, Tammi Arender, Anchor and Reporter for RFD-TV and Rural Radio Sirius XM80 and Derrick Mason, Former Tennessee Titan and Baltimore Raven.

Lukasick and other contestants have received professional dance instruction from National Dance Clubs and World Champion Productions. To vote for one of the contestants or purchase tickets for the event, go to feedamericafirst.org.
