A local state representative's bill requiring ultrasound images be shown or described to women seeking abortions has been withdrawn. The House Health subcommittee was ready to send Representative Rick Womick's bill to a study committee for the summer, but he got the group to reschedule it for next session.

The Rockvale Republican's proposed legislation was met with concerns about the 24-hour waiting period it requires, potentially conflicting with other bills being considered that seek a 48-hour waiting period.
