Tragedy strikes a local family anticipating high school graduation after a drowning at Percy Priest Dam.

Nineteen year old Corey Polk, a senior at Riverdale High School, died after jumping from rocks in a cove and trying to swim across. Despite efforts by his brother to save him, Polk didn't make it across the cove.

The body of Polk was found just before 10:30 Friday night by Metro Nashville Fire, Police and Emergency Management personnel, some two hours after he disappeared.

Polk was among the Riverdale seniors set to graduate on Saturday (May 19th).
