43 Year old Cherie Cash Rutledge of Murfreesboro is facing multiple charges after a DUI stop on the New Salem Highway Thursday night (10/6/16).

Once stopped, police first questioned Rutledge about damage to her taillight. The report shows, "Ms. Rutledge stated that she had hit her neighbors' mailbox when she was backing up and planned on telling the neighbor at a later date." Rutledge then failed a field sobriety test, according to police.

As for why Rutledge was out driving while she was allegedly intoxicated, "Ms. Rutledge stated that she was just taking her three children to get something to eat."

Due to the children in the vehicle, the local attorney was charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment. She was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident in addition to the DUI.
