Owners of local businesses packed The Alley On Main Restaurant Monday night (11/14/2016). They were there to learn about LOCALLY OWNED MURFREESBORO, a new organization designed to help small businesses.

The three main focus areas of the organization are collective marketing, providing a voice to represent local businesses to the government and media, and networking and referrals.

Economic studies show that when you shop at a locally owned business, for every dollar you spend, 70-cents stays in the community. The return is only 40-cents when it's a corporate business. And if you shop on-line, none of the money stays at home.
