Long Time WGNS Listener Dies After Extended Illness

A long time WGNS listener has passed away. You may recall hearing Bill Hall call into Swap and Shop on a daily basis. The 67-year old was a true fan of the station. Hall, who has lived in Rutherford County his entire life, was the founder of Gethsemane House of Prayer. 

The Sunday Night WGNS radio program for his church will be devoted to his memory this Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 8 PM.

Obituary: 

Rev. William Lee "Bill" Hall, 67, of Murfreesboro died November 14, 2013 after an extended illness.  He was born in Rutherford County on October 18, 1946.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lee Hall and Pauline (Herman) Hall Thomas; step-father, Shelah Thomas; wife, Betty Jo Durham Hall and a brother, Allen Dale Hall.

He is survived by a son, William Christopher "Chris" Hall of Murfreesboro; a brother, Thomas Ray "Tom" & Debra Hall of Bradyville; sister, Mary Jane & Billy Trail of Murfreesboro; several step-siblings, step-children and step-grandchildren and numerous friends.

Mr. Hall was a founding member of the Gethsemane House of Prayer.  Working as an Evangelist for the church for many years and was a devoted member.  He loved reading his Bible.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Muffin.  He liked raising a garden, especially tomatoes and beans. A favorite pass time was calling in to Shop and Swap on WGNS.

A Home Going service will be held at the Gethsemane House of Prayer at a date to be announced.  The Sunday Night WGNS radio program for his church will be devoted to his memory this Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 8 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the church, 6919 Manchester Hwy.
