Jim Baker led Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Cooperative for 23 years before his retirement in 2003. Baker passed away Monday at the age of 77.

Baker began working at MTEMC in 1960. He became assistant general manager in 1979 and was named G-M in 1980, a position he held until retirement.

He's survived by his daughter, Connie Holbrook and son Mark Baker. Several granddaughters survive as well.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Thursday at North Boulevard Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 3:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday at North Boulevard Church of Christ. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
