A man arrested this past February for allegedly cooking meth in a hotel room at the Knights Inn on S. Church Street in Murfreesboro, will appear in court this week to file a plea. 24-year old Jeffery St. John, who is behind bars at this time, was arrested shortly after police found a backpack containing meth under a stairwell at the hotel.

After finding the backpack, police were led to room 132 where it was discovered that St. John had reportedly been cooking meth in his hotel room bathroom. Out of a health concern, authorities evacuated the guest next to room 132. As a precaution, the two adults and one six year old child in that room were taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital to be checked for meth contamination. Luckily, the three got the all clear and were sent home.
