An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has resulted in a Gallatin man being charged with more than a dozen counts of theft from clients.
On June 14, 2012, TBI Special Agents joined investigators with the Gallatin Police Department in investigating 21st Century Living Services in Gallatin. The agency provides care for clients who have traumatic brain injuries. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that from August 2002 through February 2012, agency co-owner Loney Hutchins stole more than $250,000 from some of the clients of 21st Century Living Services.
On May 7th, the Sumner County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Hutchins, 68, with two counts of Theft over $60,000, 16 counts of Theft over $1,000, one count of Theft over $500 and three counts of Money Laundering. This afternoon, Hutchins turned himself in to TBI Agents and officers with the Gallatin Police Department. He was booked into the Sumner County Jail where he is being held on a $7,500 bond.
