Man Allegedly Kidnapped in LaVergne After Agreeing to Give Couple a Ride from the Driftwood Inn

In LaVergne, man who allegedly went to the Driftwood Inn to help a couple out and simply give them a ride, ended up being abducted? The 20-year old told LaVergne Police he went to the hotel to pick the couple up, but the three ended up getting into an argument and the couple took control of the car for the next two hours.

Suspects Jonathan Russell and Holly Summers allegedly beat the victim, stabbed him and then placed him into the trunk of the car. They then drover to Georgia. Once the car came to a stop in Catoosa County, the victim was able to crawl out of the trunk and flag down a passing motorist who took him to the hospital. Police were called and authorities in Georgia apprehended both Russell and Summers. As far as the victim goes, he is now back in Tennessee and a full recovery is expected.

Russell and Summers face were charged with aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, and aggravated kidnapping. Police have not released how the victim and the two suspects are connected or why the 20-year old agreed to give the couple a ride in the first place.
