Man allegedly shoplifted and then ran from Murfreesboro Police

In your shoplifting story of the day, a man who is accused of stealing over $500 in merchandise from Walmart on Rutherford Boulevard was arrested after allegedly running from Murfreesboro Police.

Jhames Isaac Lloyd who told police he was currently homeless, reportedly stole merchandise and then ran from a loss prevention officer at the store. Later in the evening, police spotted a subject who matched the identity of the Lloyd at University Gables apartment complex on S. Rutherford Boulevard. Officer T. Ledford wrote in a report, "I observed the suspect and told him to stop. He then fled from me."

After a short pursuit, Officer Ledford was able to take Lloyd to the ground. The 19-year old suspect was placed in handcuffs and charged with theft, evading arrest and resisting arrest. He will appear in court this October. As of Monday evening, Lloyd is still behind bars and has not made bond.
