A 26-year old Smyrna man was arrested after allegedly making threats with a gun outside a Stones River Mall store. Brian Mason of Del Thomas Road told police he became angry at another driver reportedly speeding through a parking lot in front of Marshall's around 6 o'clock Saturday night.

Murfreesboro Police Officer Jessica Rice reports Mason said he followed the car to J.C. Penny's, where he got into a verbal altercation with the victim. As the yelling and cussing continued, the victim reported seeing Mason go back to his car where a gun was visible. After yelling "there was a gun," the victim reports Mason drove off and he followed to get a tag number and called police. A witness in the victim's vehicle corroborated the story.
