A 24-year old Murfreesboro man was badly injured after helping out a stranger early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at the Grove Apartments on Journey Drive. The driver of a Chevrolet Blazer got his SUV stuck on a curb near the apartment office. Felipe Campos grabbed several large rocks and placed them under the rear tire of the SUV in an attempt to allow the vehicle to back up onto the rocks and then pull forward off the curb.

As the driver of the SUV pushed the accelerator, one of the rocks flew out from under the tire striking Campos in the leg. By the time paramedics arrived, Campos was bleeding profusely. An ambulance transported him to the ER for treatment. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
