A 58 year old man who told police he met with a "Female Friend" at the Select Inn near the South Church Street / I-24 interchange, claims to have been robbed. The victim, who is from Lafyette, Tennessee, was reportedly robbed while on route to nearby LaVergne.

The incident occurred after he left his female acquaintance and she allegedly arraigned for a ride to take him to LaVergne, some 15 minutes away. The man told officers he met his ride at the nearby Cracker Barrel on South Church Street and the men in the car drove him to a field instead of his needed destination. It was at the field that one of the two men pointed a gun at him demanding money. The Men then made the victim exit the car while leaving with both his cellphone and cash.

Police met with the victim after he walked from the unknown location of the field into the city limits and onto Broad Street. The victim was not injured in the robbery. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.
