37-year-old David Wayne Comer, Jr was originally charged with having sexual contact on three different occasions over several months with a 16-year-old girl, according to Detective Steve Craig with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

After the incidents in the Murfreesboro area were reported in 2015, the man fled Rutherford County and was eventually tracked down in nearby Wilson County. He was then arrested and transported back to Murfreesboro where he was held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Authorities say that the Rutherford County crimes actually occurred in 2012, but the victim waited about three years before coming forward to report the incidents.

Comer was previously convicted of statutory rape and sexual battery of two 16-year-old girls in Davidson and Wilson Counties.
