A man who was convicted of rape of a child, attempted rape of a child, seven counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of child abuse, and one count of attempted solicitation of a minor in Rutherford County recently filed an appeal in the Court of Criminal Appeals. David Neal Davis suggested he had ineffective assistance of counsel during his trial. Davis received a 20-year sentence and later insisted that his case was not adequately investigated.

The courts disagreed with the petitioner and Davis will remain behind bars.
