A 57-year old man who allegedly dialed 9-1-1 a total of six times in the past week has been arrested. No, it is not illegal to call 9-1-1 – IF a real emergency is taking place. It is only illegal to dial 9-1-1 IF you are calling when you should not be calling.

A Police Report filed by Officer Ogg shows that Robert C. Zettwoch called 9-1-1 when his roommate tried to get into the apartment they share. Zettwoch was evidently told not to call 9-1-1 several days ago, but that message never sunk in, according to an M-P-D Arrest Report.

Zettwoch was charged with “Misuse of 9-1-1” and placed under a $6,500 bond. As of Monday evening, he has not made bond. He will appear in court this February.
