Murfreesboro Police were called to the Old Fort Golf Course after a man reportedly called about finding a body there. Turns out, 70-year old Gary Welsh pulled a gun and shot himself when police arrived. This unfolded Friday morning after he reportedly made the initial call.

It came a day after Welsh appeared in court to answer to two counts of aggravated sexual battery and three counts of sexual battery. He was arrested by Rutherford County Sheriff's deputies on a sealed indictment. Thursday was the first day of his trial.
