Man victim of robbery attempt after posting CraigsList ad

A CraigsList ad posted by a man in Murfreesboro ended with an arrest. The victim who put his Xbox on CraigsList to sell set a time to meet a potential buyer at an apartment complex on Wenlon Drive. A knock on the door revealed the apartment was empty.

22-Year old suspect Keith Smith answered the door when the 23-year old victim arrived at the unit. The victim told police that Smith pulled out two handguns and that was when the victim darted towards the balcony leaping to a neighboring apartment and calling 9-1-1.

Smith was found in a nearby apartment unit and questioned by police. The suspect denied that he was in the vacant apartment claiming that he just returned from a tobacco store.

The victim positively ID'ed Smith and the subject was handcuffed and charged with simple assault. Needless to say, he never got the X-Box and the victim was able to keep it.
