Manchester Father Charged With MURDER: 6-wk old son

(Manchester) In neighboring Coffee County a father is jailed on $2-million bond after his son 's death around 6:30 Sunday (1/5/2020) morning. Authorities say the infant died of blunt force trauma.

Our news partners at WMSR in Manchester said police were called to the hospital in Tullahoma on Saturday (1/4/2020) when a 6-week old infant was brought-in with severe injuries. The infant was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital, but passed away the next morning in the hospital's Pediatric ICU (Intensive Care Unit).

Coffee County District Attorney General Craig Northcutt noted that "the father also neglected to seek immediate medical attention for his son."

21-year old Gavin Clark told authorities that the infant had been accidentally dropped at their home in Manchester.

Clark was originally charged with aggravated child abuse, but that has been changed to first degree murder. He is incarcerated at the Coffee County Jail.
