It was noted in the program that Morrison serves tirelessly as a volunteer for Friends of Linebaugh in the FOLL bookstore. She is at the library every week, three to five days a week, making sure that new donations are organized and the FOLL bookshelves in the library are packed and neat for patrons every day. Morrison has a rapport with patrons that shows her love for our staff and the services we offer. She's always willing to help.

Morrison works at the monthly FOLL book sales, and is always sharing the news of the library with those who attend. Linebaugh Branch Librarian, Carol Ghattas shares: "Marilyn always has a good word to say every time I meet her, and she encourages our staff at every opportunity. She also takes high schoolers, who are working to get community service hours and gives them the opportunity to help her in the bookstore, unloading boxes and organizing materials. I see her talking with them and building them up any way she can. We have a wonderful Friends of Library Board and group of volunteers, but Marilyn Morrison outshines them all with her consistent presence and support. She is a well-deserved recipient of this special award."

In addition to Morrison, Friends Of Linebaugh Library Board President Linda Vile and Boardmember Eva Graalman were in attendance, along with several staff members of the Rutherford County Library System staff members to celebrate the occasion.
