MFRD Rushes To Tuesday Afternoon Fire

Around 4:30 Tuesday (9/4/2018) afternoon, Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue rushed to a 2-story townhouse fire on Meigs Drive off South Church Street.

Officials report that the fire started in the decorative landscaping mulch, and the cause has not been determined.

Units 20 and 21 were damaged, and each was approximately 1,500 square feet in size.

No one was at home when the fire broke out, and firefighters were able to save the dog that was inside of the apartment.

The Meigs Drive apartments were just off South Church Street (highway 231/Shelbyville Highway)--near the Exxon gas station and Camino Real restaurant. NewsRadio WGNS will keep you informed.
