(MURFREESBORO) Jeremy Jernigan, who has more than two decades of experience in the waste industry, has been named General Manager at Middle Point Landfill. In this role, Jernigan will lead an expert team of technicians and operators, oversee a site that has a local economic impact of more than $7 million annually, and serve as a liaison with the community.

Jernigan returns to Middle Point from Indiana where he was general manager of several waste facilities, covering Evansville, Wabash and Kokomo, Indiana, as well as western Kentucky. In that capacity, he oversaw 5 landfills, 2 transfer stations and more than 250 site technicians and operators.

Originally from Manchester, Jernigan spent the first 19 years of his career at either Middle Point or at nearby facilities. He began at the age of 18, doing everything from washing trucks and soon moved on to a series of other jobs. In 1996, Jernigan earned his commercial drivers license and began driving residential and industrial collection trucks in Rutherford County before becoming an operations supervisor at Republic's Murfreesboro Hauling facility.

The Coffee County Central HS graduate and his family are thrilled to be back in Middle Tennessee and have recently moved into a home in Murfreesboro. Asked what he would like the community to know about him, Jernigan had this to say: "I'm a very dedicated family man, I'm very dedicated to my faith, and I'm very dedicated to this community. I want to do right by all of them."
