The 2013 Annual Meeting Planning Committee met at the Corporate Office in March and set Aug. 10 for this year’s meeting of the membership. 

The planning committee is composed of members from each of Middle Tennessee Electric’s four districts. They are nominated by the MTEMC Board of Directors. 

“We sincerely appreciate the planning committee and the job they do each year to help us plan for the members’ meeting,” MTEMC President Chris Jones said. “The Annual Meeting is a fundamental facet of the electric cooperative’s identity, and these members who serve on the committee take it seriously.”

The committee recommended hosting the meeting at the Murfreesboro Embassy Suites and will follow a similar format as it has in years past. It will include a business meeting, election of directors and a new nominating committee, a beauty pageant for girls ages 16-21, a free health fair and door prizes for those attending.

“The venue has worked great for us the last few years, as our event continues to grow,” said MTEMC Communications Coordinator Todd Palmer said.  “This facility gives us  an environment that’s really built for meetings like ours.”
