MLK Celebration Breakfast At MTSU January 26, 2019

(MURFREESBORO) The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Breakfast will be at MTSU's James Union Building at 9:00 o'clock Saturday morning, January 26, 2019. It is sponsored by the local NAACP and adult tickets are $30, student tickets are $20, and a table for eight is $220. Contact Carolyn Cox cdc4c@att.net or phone 615-969-5994. The theme of next week's breakfast is "Do Justice, Love Mercy and Walk Humbly!"

The keynote speaker is the Right Reverend Jeffrey N. Leath. He is the 128th Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and currently serves the 13th Episcopal District (Kentucky & Tennessee). Dr. Leath is a graduate of Yale College, Yale Divinity School (Master of Divinity) and United Theological Seminary (Dayton, Ohio) - Doctor of Ministry. Brother Leath is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and he is a 33rd Degree Prince Hall Mason.

The breakfast also honors citizens who continue to go the extra mile for this community.

Humanitarian Award

Noah Gaines, "Noah's Heart Ministry": He is a 6th grade student at Cason Lane Academy and did a Mission Project at Allen Chapel AME Church for the Homeless.

Rhonda Alley, Youth Move K.H.R.O.M.E. (Kids Helping Rutherford County and Others Morph Into Excellence) which has a focus on Bullying and Teen Suicide Prevention, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Fund of Rutherford County, Inc.
