A University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) model shows that Tennessee looks to be in the forecast of having fewer cases of COVID-19 in the near future as opposed to seeing a huge increase. However, the university says that Wednesday of this week, April 16th, is the date of which coronavirus is expected to peak in the Volunteer State. The model shows that Tennessee will need 632 hospital beds by the 16th of this month. That number indicates there is no hospital bed shortage in Tennessee as originally foretasted.

The latest statistical information provided by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation indicates social distancing may have been helping, as it should have. This despite news that more and more people were getting out of their homes during the "Stay at Home" orders. Perhaps the activity was for the most part, kept within families and not social activity with friends and acquaintances.
