Monday Morning Power Outage--Squirrel Loses!

(MURFREESBORO) Suddenly around 6:07AM Monday (11/5/2018) morning the lights went out in parts of the 'Boro.

Murfreesboro Electric crews scrambled to the Riverview area to determine what caused the loss of electricity.

MED power rangers reported that too curious squirrels were sniffing a transformer.


Amy Byers told NewsRadio WGNS that 50 to 60 families in the Haynes Drive - Colfax area with in the dark for a short period.

One resident noted, "Thank goodness we switched to standard time the the day before. Otherwise, we would have been in the dark."


It worked out well for everyone, but the squirrel.
