MORE Fake money has been spotted in Murfreesboro. In past reports we told you about counterfeit twenty dollar bills at McDonalds, a market on Bridge Avenue and money turning up at a local movie theater. The fake twenties have now turned in to fake $100 bills.

Unknown men have successfully used counterfeit $100 bills at the Carmike Movie Theater and at a gas station on Highway 96. The good news is that their luck did not last all night.

The Beer and Tobacco Store on Cason Lane called the authorities when someone tried to buy some smokes with a fake $100. The clerk caught on that the cash was counterfeit and the customer grabbed the money and fled the scene. Video cameras in the parking lot may help lead to an arrest. The subject and his two buddies were caught on tape leaving the store in a red four door Pontiac with temp tags.
