Another case of phony money has been reported in Murfreesboro. This time around, the fake cash appeared at the McDonald's drive thru on on Broad Street this past Sunday.

According to the clerk who was working the drive thru, a man and a woman came to her window in white Buick SUV. The female asked for change from a $50 bill that she handed the worker. The employee of the fast food eatery checked to see if the bill was real and it turned out to be a fake. The male passenger in the SUV quickly told the McDonald's worker that he just got the cash out of a nearby ATM machine. Little did the man know, very few ATM machines in the United States give out bills higher than a twenty dollar bill. The subject asked the worker to give him the counterfeit bill back so that he could exam it. However, the worker said no and called the police.

When officers arrived on the scene they were able to get a good description of the SUV and also a license plate number. The tag returned to an address in Murfreesboro, but an arrest has not been made.

Fake money was also used at Taco Bell on Memorial Blvd. No arrest was made in that case either.
